Any updates on Chris Jones?

With the addition of Travon Landry to the 2013 class, I highly doubt Jones ends up here.

Yup. He's got potential. Had offers from Alabama and Vanderbilt.

Strengths:
Landry is a pass first point guard that knows how to run a team and is an extension of the head coach on the floor. He is more concerned about winning than stats, but has shown the ability to take over a game when his team needs him. He has a high basketball I.Q. on both sides of the ball and dictates tempo with his ball pressure. He is a threat to knock down an open 3-ball and has speed and ball quickness to get into the paint at will.

Weaknesses:
Although Landry has shown he can shoot it when open he will need to develop his consistency on his 3 point shot; because of his ball quickness defenders often sag in order to contain his penetration and he will need to make them pay when he gets to the college level.

Bottom Line:
Tennessee got themselves a tough hard-nosed competitor that has a great work ethic and loves to compete. His defensive abilities may be more advanced than his offensive prowess at the moment, but he possesses a second gear with the ball that should give him the chance to be very effective scoring the ball when needed.

Can't find it now, but an article from this summer seemed to indicate CCM wasn't recruiting him very hard. I tend to agree that taking a '13 PG means no Jones.

He's a great player, though - if Forbes ends up with a good job like Memphis, he could very well follow.

That sounds exactly like the opposite of the point guards we've had for the last five years (Bobby Maze excepted). High basketball IQ, ability to run an offense. A breath of fresh air.

He sounds exactly like a Cuonzo Martin type PG. Also a very good defender it seems.

Saw the article too. CCM is not pursuing him at all.

Chris Jones will not play at Memphis as he and current point guard Joe Jackson are not exchanging Holiday gifts this year if you know what I mean. Their H.S. competition was fierce. I hadn't heard anything of Forbes going to Memphis.

Don't know where Forbes will end up, but I know that a lot of U of M fans want Pastner to hire him.

Pastner is going to have to do something as he is quickly becoming known for recruiting and nothing else.
