| Thursday thought brought to you by a Yuengling liquid lunch.
Hall, Cam, Hop, Mcrae and others all have the same thing in common when the opportunity to rebound is there. They stand and stare. Too many players do it.
The best rebounders watch the ball, the release, the spin, angle, etc and anticipate where the ball is going to come off, while getting the position necessary, or just getting there first. It's second nature to some players. It's not to others.
If you shot 100 balls, I'd be able to anticipate where the ball will be coming down the vast majority of the time.
I want to see some UT basketball players that have that basketball iq and instinct. The last 2 big offensive rebounds against Oakland (over Hall and around Mcrae) were prime examples. |

| Coach Zo in his presser and the players' post game comments all agreed that rebounding was a big reason for the loss at Oakland.
Said that they would be working on it hard in practice before the Pitt game. |

I surely expect them to box out more aggressively. However, there is still that aspect regarding instinct and playing the ball. I hope our guys don't get so focused on looking for their man to box out, and lose the flight of the ball at the same time. |

| At least Maymon has shown the potential for being this type of player. He definitely showed it in Maui against Memphis while setting the all time tourney record for boards in a game.
