No Bernard King???

This guy obviously never saw Bernard play at UT nor saw any clips of his play. Based on his criteria and list, I put King between Len Bias and Christian Laettner.

Chuck Klosterman on Lew Alcindor, Pete Maravich, Bill Walton, and the 50 greatest basketball players in college basketball history - Grantland

I was reading that article earlier mostly to see where King would be on it.

King dropped 50 on Jordan a couple of times...If not for injuries he would've been one of the all time greats....He was on some terrible teams too.

For the most part, Grantland loves UT. Bray has been mentioned 3 or 4 times already.

I admit, Bernard King being left off that list was a surprise to me as well, but I doubt he's mad at all for being among the 50 best "peaked too early" players. (minus Kareem having his name change)

I figured as much, but there are at least five people I can think of who will come in here and try and argue that statement to back it up...

Klosterman is a great writer. I don't agree with leaving BK out, but I usually always respect CK's opinion.

King is arguably(with the Pistol) the best player EVER in the SEC

"10. Tyler Hansbrough (North Carolina, 2005-2009): Hansbrough was the basketball equivalent to Tim Tebow, but he arrived a year earlier. He prepared us for Tebow. He was the pre-Tebow. He was the Prebow."

King was better than Maravich and it's not that close.
