| Robert Hubbs SG TN '13 Robert Hubbs 6'4" SG TN class of 2013
per espn- 3* #28 grade-90- #39 Rivals 4*
(this guys stock is rising by the second, this evaluation was 8/8/11)
Strengths:
Hubbs is an incredible athlete who is just starting to realize how good he can be on the hardwood. He can score the ball and always tries to excite the homefolks with some acrobatic antics in the air.
Weaknesses:
Athleticism is not in question but strength and the ability to grasp the lead guard spot will be his growth expierence. He has the skills and despite being asked to score, he has the capability to get everyone involved. Decision-making will bring him into another level.
Bottom Line:
This athletic combo guard has drawn the attention of many in the SEC and the Southeast and has garnered a number of offers.

| | Junior Member | Robert is going to make someone a very good player.Should continue to get better. His Dad,also named Robert is the middle school basketball coach at Northview in Newbern Tenn.A very good kid. From what I hear his Dad keeps a watchful eye on him as far as not letting him get out with people that could land him in trouble.Everyone I've talked to says he is a very good kid and breathes basketball.I know Coach Pastner came to Dyer Co last year during his sophomore season and watched him play in Memphis when Dyer Co played White Station and Jarnell Stokes. His high school coach has Missouri connections while the assissant coach played at Ark.St I believe. With his Dad being a coach and from West Tenn.,think personally Memphis will be hard to win out against unless the Tigers are loaded at his position. He'll probably go to a school that will give him playing time. From a close knit family and wouldn't rule out some of the smaller colleges like a UTM.Close to home and still could help propel them to the NCAA tournament.

We've watched him, like you mentioned, but I don't think we've extended a scholarship to him yet. |

| | Junior Member | I still think Memphis is the team to beat but also the reason I said it could depend on other factors.Memphis is also looking at Tyson from Brighton who is about the same height and similiar player, although I personally think Hubbs is the better shooter from outside between the two.But both are very gifted.Tyson is who I had in mind when I wrote my post and I noticed today on another site,Tyson did an interview with a Tiger board. That's why I also wrote if not Memphis or Tenn, could see him staying closer to home like a UTM,Austin Peay, etc. Not far from home and put or help put them on the map.Again.He is from a close knit family and close community that loves basketball in Dyer Co.They fill the gym and it is loud..Here'a a post from another in the know about Hubbs from another board.:
Hubbs is making some noise. M33M was in Indy at the Big Adidas event this past week. Everybody is now confirming Hubbs now has offers from Memphis, Vandy, Ole Miss and Auburn...Arkansas and Missouri starting to get heavily involved. Everybody is going to be after this kid....next up, don't be surprised if you see some of the true heavyweights start to get involved....I predict it will happen, in time. This kid might literally be one of the best players in the entire country for the class of 2013....when I say that I'm talking like one of the top 20 or 30 kids, no joke...all contingent on him continuing to improve, which I have no doubt he will. Without question he has a chance to be better than Casey Prather for the simple fact he is a two guard and is way more advanced on the offensive end...when I say way more I mean by a substantial margin and that is saying alot because Prather was a stud. |
