This Kid Has Promise...Two years...

The kid seems to have good instincts with the ball and finding holes in a defense, but he isn't particularly all that athletic. He made inferior opponents look, well, inferior. The competition didn't look very impressive. The kid looks like he has potential to play at the NAIA level and possibly small D1 ball like UTC, but his set shot (though accurate) has a slow release and he doesn't get much lift on his shot. But overall, thats not a bad highlight film. If he does make it to D1 ball somewhere (seems unlikely), it will be in the role of a specialty player like a shooter.

Is that the same school as Imani Cross?

North Hall Trojans?

There is another video of Ethan Smith, Shooting Guard, 2013 in that video you will see Imani Cross #25,on several shots...he's huge and cut. I talk to him frequently. He's in the men of summer program at North Hall and doing well. He had a great spring game. Getting bigger and faster.

Avery Johnson is in third shot of video, 26 second mark, and the 2:08 mark, #45 - he is from Gainesville High School, LB commit to vols. Good kid.

Seems like he would be a pretty good fit at Austin Peay

yea, perhaps. D-2 or low D-1...still needs to get stronger and quicker. mechanics are good and fluid. good thing is he has two years to develop and we know a lot can happen.

AP isn't "low" D-1 by any means. They're in a mid-major conference that just got pretty damn tough by adding Belmont. Plus they have a solid history.

A lot can happen in 2 years. I would trust he will get stronger and quicker. The mechanics are good and fluid. However, when you start working on a quicker release and adding significant lift to the j (not just 1-2 inches), a lot of work will need to be put in.
