Tony Jones pursuing EMU

CoachingNewsOnline.com reports today that Tony Jones, the former Tennessee associate head coach under Bruce Pearl, is "actively pursuing the open head job at Eastern Michigan."

Jones is a Detroit native so a head coaching position at a school just 30 miles west of his hometown in Ypsilanti, Mich., makes a whole lot of sense.

- Former Tennessee ASHC Tony Jones is lobbying for the Eastern Michigan job. Add Toledo HC Stan Joplin, former Utah HC Jim Boylen and Texas Southern HC Tony Harvey to the mix as well.

- Former Tennessee AC Jason Shay has interviewed for the DIII Monmouth College job.
