Bruce Pearl's payout will come from UT athletic department; no special donations made GoVolsXtra

Pearl, who was fired Monday following a string of recruiting violations and a charge of unethical conduct by the NCAA, will receive his current monthly salary of $109,599.40 through June 30. From then, he will receive $50,000 per month plus health insurance costs for 12 months.

Total buyout: $948,728
Next month's payment: $109,599.40
Fulmer's buyout: $125,000
Total buyout costs: $234,599.40

UTAD throwing a quarter million per month at coaches that are not even on campus may be why you probably haven't seen any big money hires.

Not that I am mad at the Cuonzo hiring, but I'm just saying. $250k/month ain't chump change.

Georgia Tech begs to differ. They are in the final year of honoring Chan Gailey's $1 million per year buyout and about to start Paul Hewitt's $7.2 million buyout. Kind of makes Fulmer/Pearl seem like a bargain.
