This is (updated - 03/22/11 @ 10:00 am) THE UNOFFICIAL LIST of VolNation posters who think that Tennessee will hire a coach who is as good or better than Bruce Pearl. I took the liberty of compiling this list so that there would be at least some small amount of accountability.

I have also decided to put some criteria down for defining "as good or better" than Pearl:

1. head coaching experience - five years minimum;
2. average 24 wins per year as head coach;
3. ncaa tourney appearance % (division II) - 100%;
4. ncaa tourney appearance % (division I - mid major) - 50%;
5. ncaa tourney appearance % (division I - major) - 100% (if applicable);
6. sweet 16 appearance % (division II) - 75%;
7. sweet 16 appearance % (division I - mid major) - 25%;
8. sweet 16 appearance % (division I - major) - 50%.

Before you criticize these criteria, you should probably do a little checking to see where they came from.

this thread should be stickied.so three years from now, when Pearl is leading a Big Ten team to the NCAA tournament and UT is finishing 6th in the East, we can at least have something to laugh about. If only we could make the same list for the local sports media defending their buddy Hamilton.
