Tennessee’s Bruce Pearl should have lied. And kept lying.

From Clay Travis

Clay Travis :: Claynation

"Consider, Pearl hosted juniors at his home for a barbecue and got his pay docked over a million dollars, lost off-campus recruiting privileges for he and his staff for a year and has been suspended from coaching for the first eight games of the SEC season. For hosting players at a barbecue and admitting lying about it. (Hosting the players would be permissible if they were seniors, but not as juniors). The admission of a lie leads to greater punishment, ironically, than simply lying.

Meanwhile Cecil Newton tried to sell his son for $180,000 and his son claims he didn’t know. The NCAA can’t prove that Newton did knowThe result? A one-day ineligibility.

One day!

In the middle of the week, no less."

That's what I've understood from the beginning. The issue wasn't that seniors were there, it was because juniors were there. Stupid rule. That's why I keep saying it's ridiculous to catch this much crap over a picture of a recruit during a barbque (albeit he then lied about it), when there's 180,000 reasons just south of here for another university to be catching a whole lot more crap.

If you aint cheating you aint trying. If your trying you need to be lying. If you lie your subject to fining. If you start losing we start whining. Next thing you know, were all crying.

Well when Pearl was asked about bbq party, the investigator already possessed a photo that proved his violations. When Pearl found out the investigator had the photo, he then admitted. Cam was lucky they weren't dumb enough to get out the camera and start collecting evidence.

Yea.... I always thought it was part of the proof that Pearl was not use to cheating... a real cheater like Calipari or (apparently SCAM) would have never had a photo taken in the first place. A real cheater KNOWS how to cover his tracts
