5 point play?

Can someone explain the 5 point play by Belmont last night? I thought a garden variety shooting foul would be 1 shot, and the announcers didn't say it was flagrant, or a technical.

They made the three, and they were in double bonus, before the guy was fouled down low. So it was a made three, then the foul gave Belmont 2 free throw shots.

Regardless, it pissed me off.

3 point shot was good. Foul occurred under the basket after the 3 pointer was made. Dude that was fouled got the 2 fts. I actually had that happen in hs. But I got the 3 pointer and both fts. Weird situation. Belmont was in the bonus when that play happened.

I knew what was going on but those announcers were just pathetic. They weren't even calling the game half of the time and during that particular sequence they didn't even note that the lead was cut from 10 to 5.

The 5 point play was invoked last night in a valiant effort to pull the win out for Belmont. Unfortunately, for Belmont and the officials, the Vols didn't lay down and completely collapse in the last few minutes as hoped.
