McBee at point guard?

With his speed, quickness, and defensive ability, he would be a natural at point. He also sees the floor well and is a great distributor of the ball.

I think you meant defensive liability. His one on one defense isn't SEC caliber and the weakest part of his game. He might pretty decent at stepping into a passing lane, but make no mistake, he cannot guard the top point guards in the conference

skylar has the speed and quickness of a power forward not a point guard. I do not see him being able to keep up with the point guards in the SEC. I hope I am wrong but do not believe that I am. remember Dane Bradshaw! He is barely quick enough to guard two guards, He will not be able to stay with the point guards in division one basketball.

I could definitely see this happening. But here come all the posts about him not being quick enough to guard in the SEC.

I hope Skylar sees very limited minutes from this point on, along with Pearl.

Wow this has mistake written all over it. It seemed like everytime he got the ball he looked scared to have it in his hands. He was "supposedly" our 3 point specialist, and correct me if im wrong, but it seemed as if JP shot a better percentage from out there. Nothing personal towards Skylar whatsoever but based on last year, he showed no signs of being a consistently solid contributor. In fact, if it weren't for not being able to sign another big in this class (which we desparately needed imo), he probably wouldn't have gotten a scholarship. I have no reason to believe he could just all of a sudden become an sec point guard after one off season. But anyways i wish him the best of luck in whatever his role is to the team. And i definitely believe he is a TEAM player with great character and a great representative of what UT athletes should be.

Have nothing but love for the kid, however....he's just not a great basketball talent. Plays his heart out, just not SEC point guard material.....nor does he need to receive anymore playing time
