We do have talent, they're just not getting breaks right now. Kentucky got every one of them today.

is there a way that i can just block myself from going to this forum?

Why does everyone have to post about the losses. More importantly, why is everyone so surprised?

From what I've seen, people post about the losses because they most likely do not go to the games and see that there is talent on the field.

The rest simply don't know anything about baseball, like I've said before.

Seems like the pitchers always get the blame. Tennessee is 25-26, 11-15 SEC, a loss to Belmont, we have problems. How's the coach doing?

The coach has had 0 chance to turn around the debacle that was the Delmonico era. He will have to have the opportunity to recruit kids to play in his system, but frankly with the way college baseball works he has an uphill battle ahead of him. If he can start winning some games and build a little tradition that may go a long way in getting fan support, and in turn bring in better players. But, since there isn't any rule about players needing to hit college before the pro's, and since the scholarship situation in baseball isn't that great, it will be interesting to see if he can do it.

Raleigh will be fine. He gave them a 1 1/2 hour verbal beating for their lack of heart and commitment the other day.

There are holes just about everywhere on this team, but it was known coming in. I really feel like people overlooked what the press had to say after Texas gave us that win and expected big things. But Texas has since fallen out of just about every major collegiate poll and have lost right at 20 games.

This is exactly where most people expected Tennessee to finish. Once Raleigh can get his players in (give him 2 more recruiting classes), we will finally be able to truly evaluate him.

that's what is great about baseball. Good scouts can and do find the players they need.

I wish SHS pitcher/qb Sonny Gray would have given UT some serious consideration. He signed with Vandy although talk around here is he may be drafted pretty high, having a 96/98 mph fastball. I kind of think he chose Vandy since it's the Nashville area where his mother lives, his mother being the only parent alive.

Vandy is also a far superior team to UT in baseball right now. They weren't just a favorite, they were THE favorite to win it all by many major polls this year.

Lots of young talent on our team right now. We'll be fine.

I get that this team was supposed to go nowhere before the season started, but they were putting together a pretty decent, and overachieving according to expectations, season until this streak of 9 losses in a row. I think they just lost their marbles. Major League II style. And maybe the bullpen... but it is hard to single that out. They played over 40 games before this happened, so I don't believe it is talent. The only positive I've seen during this streak is that Raleigh doesn't like it too much...
