The first mock draft I saw had him as a first rounder and he was shooting up draft boards.

Sonny Gray is much more likely to play baseball at Vandy than Kelly is at UT. Generally, the elite guys going to great academic schools are more likely to go to college, mainly b/c these schools are very expensive and they offer to pay for most or all of the education. |

But the reason why people won't pick him is because they're unsure if he will fulfill his commitment here, and you don't waste a draft pick in the early rounds if you're not sure they will play or not. The easiest way to get him here would to hire Scott Boras as his agent.

| WTF? The only reason a MLB would pass on Kelly, other than wanting someone else, would be him playing college football. Yet you say he's not good enough to ever play QB at UT. So what exactly is the leverage here? |

| You can play college football and pro baseball in the summers, you know. Granted that's not ideal for either party (college team or MLB org), if a player is good enough both sides will allow it. |

| Wouldn't that be against NCAA rules, since he would be in college and getting paid.
