I know we will be better than at least one of those teams in the East, and that is Florida. They lost Matt LaPorta, who was their whole team and they really lack pitching. I really think the Vols will be a team to watch out for if the pitching comes around. 08 Vols=sleeper

there's no question S. Carolina, Vandy and Kentucky should all be better than us. UGA, UT and Florida will battle it out for the cellar. However, the SEC coaches voted Tennessee last. I'm assuming that's what he's read about.

When Pearl inherited our basketball team we were in the cellar as well. I'm not really surprised, we're 5th in the SEC at best. Raleigh has some major things to change right now

At least there are no expectations to meet.

Considering our entire style of play is changing under Raleigh, its borderline impossible to project how things are going to turn out offensively. It will be a totally different mindset at the plate.

We have about as much depth in our pitching staff as the kiddy pool, and little experience as well, so I wouldn't say a last place prediction is unreasonable. Although, we do have one of the best mound coaches.

I'm starting to believe with all the style changes Raleigh wants to implement, it might take two or three years before UT even sniffs the national level again. However, I'm willing to wait.

I'm willing to bet after having a conversation with Mr. Raleigh that Tennessee finishes no worse than 3rd in the East

i'm willing to bet they finish no better than third. Vandy and South Carolina aren't just the cream of the crop in the SEC, they're the cream of everyone's crop. UGA could go either way and UT could definitely finish ahead of UK. But with the transitions he's talked about, third would be a GREAT year.
