Yup, this really hurts the LVs chances of winning it all.

Big loss, but they can still recover.

It'll be hard this late in the season. When you lose one of your best defenders and leadoff hitter that is hitting over .450 and steals a base or two every time she is on, then it isn't easy to recover.

In softball, this is like Chris Lofton going down in the first round of the NCAA tourney. You can't replace a strong leadoff hitter like her this late in the season. As she goes, so does the offense. They may advance, but there's no way they win it all without her.

If Monica Abbot dominates like usual we won't need very much offense.

When you get to the WCWS, there isn't much offense out of any team. Abbott will have to be "on," and somebody else will have to step up. They've won the first game, lost the second game, and advanced through a rigorous loser's bracket to finish 3rd the last two years. Hopefully, they will make things much easier on themselves by winning that second game this year.

Yeah, that second game has really cost them the last two years.
