Not jaw dropping at all.

It's not rocket science that most players struggle hitting in the SEC games on all teams.

Hell Will Dalton whom was a leading golden spikes award candidate early in the season has seen his average drop nearly 100 pts in the SEC play. Bet he is barely over .200 in SEC play

IMO, its not too bad considering all.......we were a pitch, play and/or hit from bring 14-14 right now. Yeah I know if "if's and but's were candy and nuts" however for the most part the team, and I emphasize team, has fought hard and played hard. I said earlier in a thread, mix in a few guys here and there next year and we will be a solid SEC team.....

I dunno...Half the teams in the league are batting .270 or better in league play.

I am not saying we are a good sec hitting team just saying it's not surprising. It's exactly why only a few of these hitters will not be back but they aren't alone throughout the league

I understand what you are saying...the truth is, as a team, we need to be around that .270 mark to be a middle of the pack SEC team...ERA needs to be around 4.50...Fld% needs to be around ...970-.975...

Nico Mascia

Wow..
Figured OB would be Pete.

The wildest thing about it is...

Mascia has had exactly half the AB's as Jay Charleston, if you dbl his stats he might be the leader in every category...

(overall stats)

Here's a heads up to the UT folks that do the stats page archive...once you get to the 2013 season and 2012 "SEASON STATS" they don't work..."error 404"...

That said, our .965 fielding %, in conference play, is the worst we have had going back to 2013.

We were 9-19 versus group 1-50 teams...the only SEC team that didn't get double digit wins in that category.

Buckle Up!

So if I look at that PDF it looks like we averaged 11 in the SEC for batting, 10th for pitching, and 7 for Fielding

I felt good about this season, but the numbers look bad.

Hopefully we end up closer to Arkansas in a couple years. We are the smallest baseball team I've ever seen. My high school team was bigger.

It will be. CTV likes power bats , power arms, and strong defense up the middle. The roster makeup will be completely different next season. Fingers crossed that the draft will be kind.

Learned an interesting stat today that I was unaware of.

Heard CTV interviewed earlier and he stated that UT had the most conference wins ever by a team that did not make the SEC tournament.

While that might not make us feel better about last weekend, I do think it shows progress and further shows that year one wasn’t a total disaster like most predicted.
