POINT CHANGE, The Points for a weekend Sweep or Swept is now 6 Points. Mathematically it works better and quite frankly its hard to Sweep or get Swept.

Double Up is back for this weekend! Double Up your points if predicted correctly however if you are wrong you lose the points from your total.

All picks must be in by 1st Pitch Friday, game time scheduled for 3:00.

ETSU returns six starters from last seasons lineup which finished 17th in the nation in batting. New coach Joe Pennucci feels good about his offense and front-line pitching. Mound depth is a concern. The top offensive threat is shortstop Chris Cook (.350/.424/.550). Cook led the team in hits and doubles last year and hit ten home runs. He also led the team in stolen bases with 19. Cullen Smith (.301/.385/.411) is a solid all-around player whose best tool is his bat. He will play third. Christian Bailey (.337/.381/.477) is an athletic first baseman who moved over from third. Ethan Rice (.222/.364/.259) is a high energy player at second base. Jackson Greer (.125/.152/.250) is a good catch-and-throw guy behind the plate. Freshman David Beam has serious offensive potential and will play left field. Hunter Parker (.351/.427/.427) is outstanding defender in center field and is a productive hitter. Aaron Maher (.324/.391/.473) is an above average defender with a right fielders arm. He is also a reliable bat who should be a power threat this spring. Caleb Longley (.269/.364/.491) is a power threat at DH.
Ryan Simpler (6-4, 3.99) is a workhorse pitcher and team leader. It is a three-pitch strike-thrower with a bulldog mentality. Dominick Stefanacci is a newcomer with a four-pitch mix. Micah Kaczor, another new arm, is a ground ball pitcher with a plus sinker. Logan Gentry (3-1, 4.94) has three pitches he can locate. The bullpen is led a pair of two-way guys. Maher (2-0, 1.23) has a bulldog mentality and pro stuff from the left side. Cook will also pitch some. Freshman LHP Matthew Mercer is a competitor who can command his fastball.

Memphis has finished with a .500 conference record just once in its four seasons in the American, but the Tigers might have enough firepower on the mound to make a run in 2018. The coaches are excited about the one-two rotation punch of Jonathan Bowlan (4-5, 3.75) and Riley Cabral. Bowlan is a 6-foot-7, 255-pound ox of a righthander with a 92-95 mph fastball that has sink, a swing-and-miss slider in the mid-80s and feel for a changeup. Cabral was a strikeout machine last year at Chipola (Fla.) JC, where he was drafted in the 13th round but elected to honor his commitment to Memphis. He's a quick-armed 5-foot-10 righty with a 90-93 fastball and a putaway slider. Jr. RHP Alex Hicks, a 6-foot-4 sinkerballer who pitches down in the zone with a heavy 86-88 fastball and a decent slider, is slated to be the Sunday starter. Two more quality arms, RHP Blake Bennett and LHP Colton Neel, should anchor the bullpen. Bennett is a cutter specialist who also can run his heater up to 93, while Neel has good feel for an 88-91 fastball and two solid secondary pitches.
Neel is a two-way player who also brings some speed and table-setting skills to the outfield mix. Outfield speed is one of the greatest strengths of the Memphis lineup; CF Tyler Webb is a 6.5 runner with a bazooka arm, and fifth-year senior Carlos Williams has top-of-the-charts speed, he just needs to put the ball in play more consistently to make use of it. Webb (.305/.389/.474) is Memphis best overall player, and the Tigers are counting on him to be a major run producer in the middle of the lineup. So. SS Alec Trela (8 HR) is the teams biggest power threat and he has slimmed down his body and gotten quicker, making him a better defender on the left side of the infield. Otherwise, this lineup is filled with unknowns. Juco transfer Kyle Ouellete brings some pop to the first base position, and Eastern Illinois transfer Cale Hennemann is a scrappy spray hitter who should play sound defense at second base.

SIMPLY REPLY SWEEP, 2-1, 1-2 OR SWEPT

If you would like to Double Up, please specify in your post....

The Games are not handicapped, just like any other weekend series.

Rules are simple and may change without notice:

1. Simply pick how the Vols will fair each weekend Series or mid-week games
2. Reply with Sweep, 2-1, 1-2 or Swept for weekend series or WIN or LOSE for mid-week games
3. At the end of the season (tournaments included) a winner will be selected by their correct predictions and awarded a special prize on behalf of OldTimer and not to exceed $10,000 in value
4. All predictions must be submitted by the 1st pitch of the 1st Game, any edits after the start of the game will result in a disqualification for that Series or Game
5. You do not have to play every week, total points won will win
6. Point system may be changed at my discretion at any time
7. Weather will be an issue, I'll post any instructions regarding weather prior to each game, check back often if inclement weather is in play
8. More rules may be added at my discretion
9. No wagering
10. Disputes will be handled by a 3 person panel: Me, Myself and I
11. if you pick the Vols to win the Weekend series 2-1, and the Vols get HOT and take the series with a 3-game Sweep, you get 1 point. If you predicted the sweep you still get 6. Hey, we all love the sweep! Picking the Vols to go 1-2 and they get Swept gets you nothing
12. Double Up option once SEC plays begin or on special occasion beforehand, If you REPLY "Double Up" and predict correctly, your points are doubled. If you do not predict correctly your points are subtracted from your total. You must specify "Double Up" in your post prior to the 1st pitch of the 1st game.

Again, if there is an EDIT after the game starts on your post, your prediction doesn't count....

No "Double-Up" until SEC play begins or until posted on special occasion.........

Point System
Weekend Series

Sweep.

OT, for clarity, if you choose 2-1 and double, and we sweep, would it be negative points or would you get 2 points?
