"I am extremely excited that Dave is joining our coaching staff," West Virginia head coach Randy Mazey said in a news release. "He is considered one of the best pitching coaches in all of college baseball, and his track record of developing pitchers at a very high level certainly proves that, having coached 19 pitchers that have pitched in the major leagues."

Good move for him?

Wish him the best. Wellllllllll not the very best. A second place finish in the College World series to the Tennessee Volunteers will do. I really like Dave and hate he couldn't get it rolling here. As far as if he is a good fit. I'd say yes his multiple head coaching stops will make settling on one focused part of the game easier imo. The fact it being West Virginia too won't bring as huge an immediate pressure cooker either.

I wonder if any current UT pitchers will follow him to West Virginia.

Not unless they're willing to sit out a year to do it.

Good situation for CDS. Major conference program on the rise after 20+ years of irrelevance with a lot of young pitchers who pitched well as underclassmen.

He should be able to help them and get recognized for it.
