Brodie Leftridge and Pete Derkay hit home runs, nine Tennessee pitchers took the mound and the No. 24 Vols roared back with 18 unanswered runs to take an 18-4 victory over Austin Peay on Wednesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Well, I listened to it live on the radio and it was definitely a strange game. Austin Peay came roaring out of the gate with a 3 run homer in the 1st and then added 1 more later to make it 4-0. Then, the 6th inning came. Tennessee finally cracked the AP pitching and it was just a snowball effect from there. 18 unanswered when the avalanche was over.

It was just Austin Peay, but anytime you bat in 18 runs, it's impressive. I loved how we just played solid baseball after they went up 4-0 and allowed them to make all the mistakes.

That being said, I'm disappointed that it wasn't far worse. We had the bases loaded A LOT in this game and failed to capitalize the majority of the time.

Overall, looking good heading into SEC play. Bring on USCjr!
