So Lingo was drafted by the Yankee's (16th Round). He said he will sign if the money is right....

Zach said yesterday on 990 AM that he will enroll early and starts classes on July 15th. So that is the deadline for the Yankees.

Signing rules: Since both were drafted below the 10th round, they can have $100,000 bonus without it costing their parent teams bonus allotment. (they can go 5% over on bonus pool without penalty.)

Yankees Bonus Pool: $5,768,400 (5% over is $6,056,820)
Mets Bonus Pool: $7,578,000 (5% over is $7,956,900)
I will use the 5% over bonus for practical purposes.

Lingo wanted "mid to late second round money" aka $1M dollars.

Would not surprise me if he goes. I would like to have him but it isn't the end of the world if he goes to the yankees. I think when it is all said and done that he will be the 3rd or 4th best pitcher in this recruiting class.

IDK. He will have 2 years in college where he will have leverage as he is eligible after his sop year. That is pretty good stuff on his part.

That is really good news and certainly news that Serrano needed.

Is this the result of Simcox recruiting effect that we are getting good size and talent but also getting them to campus?

Aric Thomas has a lot to do with recruiting, I'm sure CLS helps and I think we had some luck this year...the next couple of weeks are important for recruiting in '17 and '18, we're behind in that area.

As it pertains to the guys that could have potentially been drafted last month, half that class was on board before Simcox would have started really...already identified and we were pretty close to not finding out what the Simcox "effect" might be imo.
