In coming freshman, Daniel Neal, was named Kentucky's Mr. Baseball.

Daniel Neal, who helped lead South Laurel High School to the state tournament in three of the past four seasons, has been named Kentucky’s Mr. Baseball by the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Neal, a senior pitcher/infielder who has signed with Tennessee, batted .532 with 15 home runs and 55 RBIs as the Cardinals finished 31-6 and lost to South Warren in the first round of the state tournament earlier this month. He also posted 48 runs, 11 doubles, four triples and 15 stolen bases.

On the mound, Neal was 6-3 with a 2.00 ERA and one save. He struck out 31 in 49 innings.

PG grade: 10

PG says he's outgrown the middle infield, could play 3B or in the outfield. He also pitched and PG says they clocked him at 88 last August. At the plate PG says:

Bats right-handed, works from a wide, powerful setup. Flashes plus, prolific pull side power. Puts on a show in batting practice. Home run threat. Has above average bat speed. Has an aggressive game action approach, doesn't get cheated. Loud bat with high upside. Excellent student.

Something that I didn't know before today was that Bryant Harris was a UGA commit. UGA pulled his offer because they were afraid of the draft. He did get drafted in the 38th round, but his expectations were first 5...

The #1 pick of the Reds (#11 overall) was a HS catcher/pitcher; Tyler Stephenson of Kennesaw Mountain, GA that had signed with GA Tech. He had a PG grade of 9.5. He will never see Tech. Just sayin'...
