Thanks OldTimer. I actually like our chances to make it. The schedule sets up nice for us I think. Of course I do like to dream a lot. :)

Thursday night games went as well as we could possibly hope with Miss State and Alabama losing at home.

Miss State sold their souls last night for the win and couldn't do it.

Their all-world closer threw almost 100 pitches and took the loss.

They made pinch running and other replacements to tie the game that crushed their chances as the evening went on.

There will be HUGE crowds on Saturday and Sunday in Starkville but LSU is sitting in the catbird seat for the sweep.

MSU plays their last 2 series on the road and they may be hurting more than anyone. MSU makes a big deal about spring sports around their spring football game and I suspect they begged the SEC to give them the home date on 4/18 (to Florida) and they had to close with 2 on road to make up for it.

Afraid the miss state series will only decide who is 13th and 14th

Might not matter for Hoover

Looks like Vols will have to win at least 4 of the remaining 6 with at least two of those wins being against Miss State. A whole lot to ask for from this group.

UGA has a tough row to hoe and SCarolina could play very well the next two weekends and lose all 6 to A&M and LSU. Also, sure would be nice if Ole Miss would sweep MSU this weekend.

FUN WITH PREDICTIONS............

South Carolina plays @A&M, LSU - they go 1-5
Tennessee plays @Arkansas, Mississippi State - they go 3-3
Georgia plays @Kentucky, Arkansas - they go 2-4
Alabama plays @Auburn, Vanderbilt - they go 3-3
Mississipi State plays @Ole Miss, @Tennessee - they go 2-4

South Carolina 11-19
Alabama 11-19
Tennessee 10-20 (we win the tie breaker by winning 2 of 3 from Miss. St.
----------------------------
Mississippi State 10-20
Georgia 9-20

THe best news is MSU state is on the road rest of conference season and they play at Ole Miss in front of a hostile crowd that would like nothing more than sweep MSU and end their season.

4 wins will get the Vols into the last spot.
3 wins will give them a 50% chance
2 wins will give them about 10%
1 win will require UGA and Alabama losing the rest of their games.

I know there is no sense in looking back but how in the world did the Vols get swept AT HOME by UGA?
