After leading the Vols to a midweek sweep of La Salle and a series win at No. 24 Arizona State, freshman designated hitter and Knoxville native Nick Senzel has been named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, marking the second-straight week a Vol earned the award.

• Hit .417 for the week as the Vols swept La Salle in midweek action and took two of three from No. 24 Arizona State in Tempe … Was 5-for-12 at the plate with a double and four runs scored … Recorded a team-high seven RBIs … Walked three times … Was 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts.

• Reached base safely in all 14 games he’s played this season … Recorded an even .500 slugging percentage and a .533 on-base percentage for the week … Opened the Arizona State series with an RBI single on Friday … Added another RBI single in the Vols’ 6-5 win over the Sun Devils on Saturday … Closed the series with a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs, two runs scored and two walks against ASU … Also stole home in the finale in Tempe.
