North Carolina vs. NC State right off the bat. That should never happen. If there are two teams from the same conference they should not have to meet until the finals instead of on opening day.

This has happened to SEC teams, too. Do they draw to see whom plays whom and that is why teams from the same conference play each other on opening day? Wish they would change that if so.

no, its based on the bracket results. with so many SEC and ACC teams making the tournament, this is bound to happen at some point.

If the seedings are fair, I have no problem with same-conference rivals playing first game. BUT, LSU deserved far better than a #5 seed and seemingly received this seed based on geography than anything else.

IMO reseeding is the way to go heading into Omaha. UNC should have been playing the worst seeded team.

Nope. Indiana, miss st, or Louisville. Indiana most likely. Even UCLA would have been seeded lower. Nc state was reportedly the 9th overall seed



IMO the reseeded bracket would have been:

Bracket 1

1 UNC
8 Indiana

4 NC State
5 Louisville

Bracket 2

2 OSU
7 MSU

3 Lsu
6 UCLA
