Baseball Inks 10 in Early Signing Period

After securing one of the top recruiting classes in the country in his first season at Tennessee, head coach Dave Serrano and his coaching staff have put together another strong class this season as they announced on Monday that 10 student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to join the program for the 2013-14 academic year.

Anyone have any specific thoughts on any of these kids or the class in general?

Serrano and Maggio are top 200 recruits by PG. Serrano is real good. Not sure about the others, good mix of JUCO and HS. Obviously can get better in the spring.

Played with Josh Peterson at Unaka. Vols got a steal with him. Has him listed as a right handed batter, he is really a switch hitter, but was more comfortable from the left side.

Peterson is a pitcher only. This isn't high school chief. I love the addition of Seranno and Maggio

Hope they all make it to campus. The JUCO guys who were already drafted out of high school may be tempted the second time around. Maggio may be a risk, too. Reportedly has serious power: he hit the upper deck in the Metrodome in a home run derby for high school hitters.
