| Worse Roster? Here's a fun one:
Who inherited a more depleted, talent poor roster? Dave Serrano or Derek Dooley? |

| Serrano. Not even close. Todd Raleigh may go down as the worst hire ever for any sport at UT. As low or lower than Wade Houston. If Dooley gets 3 or 4 years to turn it around, Serrano deserves 5 or 6. |

| Dooley did because he took over a mess. It is eaisier to turn a Basketball, Baseball team around but when you have that many players on scolly for football it takes a while. |

| I think both were equally terrible but it's like comparing apples and oranges. Serrano should improve quicker because it's easier to turn a baseball roster over if your smart about it. You don't have to give full scholarships. Juco guys can fit right in. And it helps to have one of the best Juco programs in the country just Down the road in Walter State. |

Then, he had to remove three more this spring, including two pitchers that started SEC games.
Dooley didn't inherit much depth or a lot of talent, but he had enough leftovers to piece some things together and he recruited well from the start, getting Rodgers and Hunter. |

| He didn't ask about turning a roster around, he asked who took over a worse roster. It's Serrano hands down |

| I think they are pretty similar actually. We didn't have a QB, not really. We had no depth, and there was attrition on a massive scale. In a 12 game season, you have to have depth because injuries are inevitable, as we saw last year.
The Baseball team had no depth and after the attrition, there was really little chance. You have to have depth because the season is so long. Steckenrider has worn down from having to do so much. If you would have told me the most reliable pitcher at the end of the year would be Robbie Kidd, I would have said, "Who is that". |
