Lately, the boys are playing like they're pissed about Blount being kicked off the team.

Even though Alabama is solid #12, the Tide has won 2 series compared to Vols 1

Sad state of affairs for Vols BB team. Not enough pitching to compete , especially now with Blount gone. Next year should be better. Still could make the tourney this season but is definitely a long shot.

For the first time doubts about Dave Serrano's ability to unify a team toward one common goal are valid. The fact that the loses are mounting up isn't the worry but its the margin of those loses and the discipline issues that tell me he has lost this team. I am sure he is ready for next year but if that's what he is conveying to the kids he is quitting on this year and that isn't acceptable.

I didn't mean to imply that was what he was conveying to his team at all, but I bet deep down he's anxious for the reinforcements that will arrive in the fall.

I don't think he's lost the team by any stretch, I just think that the team was able to string things together and hide weaknesses for a long time, and the luck finally ran out.

Remember that they had to face this key Auburn series with their Friday night (and really only reliable) pitcher out with an injury.

Fair enough. I didnt expect this series to go well as I stated earlier in the week that Hoover was unlikely but the margin of defeat this weekend is troubling. Auburn had really been struggling and lost one of their top arms a few weeks ago as well but you are correct losing Godley was huge this weekend.

I hate to see momentum that had been gained by exceeding expectations being lost here at the end. Maybe they can turn it around and win a series or two here to finish up.
