Vols RPI

Interesting, Vols have an RPI of 50...looking over the schedule, looks like we could be in good shape if we take care of buisiness the next two weeks.

still 21 games to go. we really need to win 13 or 14 of these. this weekend is BIG with miss st. lose 2 out of three and uh-oh----- pardon, but 19 games to go. only 4 non-con games to go and 15 con games left. need to win at least 11 or 12 more and have a good sec tourney. long ways to go----we'll see. GBO !!!!

Certainly wish we were playing at home. We did take one from SC on the road in a tough environment. We need to win the next two series and the mid week games.

I'm not dismissing that we've lost our last 5 of 7.

I think what's really interesting, based on Serrano's comments...We are better, and getting better faster than even he anticipated and that has raised his expectations for what the team can accomplish THIS season.

I don't know if the RPI is a reflection of that, but looking at the schedule, we could have a very respectable RPI at the end of the regular season...If we can win the ones we're s'posed to win.

ETSU would hurt RPI badly. Who else do the Vols play mid week that might really hurt RPI?

Austin Peay, Memphis and MTSU have RPI's above 100 +....auburn is at 63

Perfect Game has MSU ranked at 50 in their new poll, I think we have about the same overall record...has me wondering if we'd be ranked if we win the series?

that's 14 more wins. we probably could win the 4 non-con games, but we would have to have 10 more wins counting the sec tourney. that's pretty tough, but---- who knows ?

Tenn will get in with less than 35wins IMO. 32-33 should do it.

I asked Kendall Rogers, in a chat, about our chances against MSU this weekend. His response:

Quote:
An absolute must-win series for the Volunteers if they want to be a serious postseason contender at the end of the season. They played very well at times against Florida, but just couldn't seal the deal.
He didn't really answer the question, but those are his thoughts.

Memphis would hurt worse than AP because of their poor winning %. AP has a very high winning % and its my understanding that RPI relies heavily on that.

I agree with him. If the Vols lose this series I am afraid Hoover is in jeopardy.
