Florida is able to get out of the slump, similar to the Rice game the Gators scored early completely outplaying the Vols putting them in a huge hole early.
Continue to stink in rubber games.
The only positive I can think of is they avoid the shutout, and they didn't quit.

Taking one out if two from no4 aint so bad. Wish our football team would show that kind of improvement. My pt is that it's certainly heading in the right direction. GBO.

I was talking specifically game 3.

THis team is headed in the right direction but it is frustrating to be unable to take the next step vs top 25 teams by winning in the rubber games.
It's one step foward 4 steps back.

... and they have not been swept in a conference series this year. One cannot underestimate the importance of that. That is the reason they are only one game under 500 (in conference play) at the halfway point of the season.

Tenn. was obviously outmatched today by the Gators. I was at the game and it seemed like half of their line-up is hitting over .300 and has multiple home runs.THeir catcher was batting like .340 with 12 HRs. I think we have 1 , maybe 2 players that are hitting above .300 and few that have more than 2 HR's. Big disparity in tlanet between the two teams. Surprised we were able to win 1 of the 3 games. Raleigh has his work cut out to get this program back to the upper echelon of the SEC. I think he can do it though.

There was something very Freudian in that next to last sentence. Raleigh is a city. Serrano is a baseball coach.

Guy you all should have expected this. We poked an angry Gator yesterday. We have last place talent, especially in numbers, and we are right in the middle of the race. You can't ask for much more. We need this ETSU game Tuesday. Like rubber games, the mid week games are tough too because of our lack of depth on the mound.

Florida is basically a AA team. UT did well to make it a competitive series.

Yeah, that catcher could easily be the #1 overall pick this June.

Their Friday starter? A first round draft pick out of high school a couple of years ago.

He means the talent is only one step away from the show. For what its worth I agree with him. That roster is made up of future big leaguers.

Yes. Many people feel that AA is the most talented level of the minor leagues. A few of the top prospects will start in AA and many of those Florida guys fit that mold.
