| David Houser, a 6-1 210lb switch hitting catcher from Columbia, SC who is supposedly considered the top catching prospect in the nation. Offers from South Carolina, Florida State, and UNC among others.
Could be a high draft pick though. |

Could be a high draft pick though. | Wow picking him straight out of SC's back yard coming off back to back titles..Impressive. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| From a PG evaluation. That pop time is nasty. http://www.perfectgame.org/players/p...aspx?ID=254915
David Houser is a 2012 C with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Columbia, SC who attends AC Flora HS. Solid athletic build, good present strength, mature look. Good arm strength, quick transfer/exchange, accurate throws when directional, tends to drift into right hander's batter's box on throws, 1.86 best pop time, good bounce and agility behind the plate, can soften up hands a bit. Switch hitter, similar bat speed both sides, spread stance right handed, long and strong swing, hands back, tends to pull off the plate. More open left handed, shorter to the ball, looks to pull, has good strength on contact. Very good student. |

| The time from when the pitch hits the catcher's mitt to when it hits the SS/2B glove. When throwing to second base. |

| 1.86 is insane that's better than Bryce Harper's. I played against him one year and he had a cannon! so if its similar to his then we got a stud of a catcher!

| It's a big recruiting win, but the guy may be a first round pick. That;ll be tough to beat. |

| If he's this good, then I'm worried about the MLB draft. |

If Houser is offered a similar deal, I'd say less than 5% he'd go to UT. It'll probably be a deadline deal, but he sounds like a rare talent and teams will pay for that. |
