Is 14 wins the magic number?

No SEC team with 14 conference wins has ever been left out of the NCAA Tournament.

With the way our team is playing I think we have a good shot in the SEC Tourney and hopefully we can get to the NCAAs

I genuinely think if we can get 2 wins this weekend that we're in the NCAAs.

Tenn. has never done this before

I would like to think that Tennessee could make the NCAA without trip to Hoover. We would actually be in better shape pitching wise with a 2 week break.

BUT, the teams that normally get the 9th bid is LSU or Florida (if I recall)

pseudo RPIs at Boyd's World

5…..Florida
10…Arkansas
11…Vanderbilt
14…South Carolina
15…Alabama
16…Auburn
20…Kentucky
25…Mississippi
27…LSU
41…Tennessee
61…Mississippi State
116..Georgia

For SEC to be assured of 9 invites, they need Alabama to finish 9th.
For SEC to be assured of 10 invites, they need Kentucky to finish 9th and Alabama to finish 10th.

At 41, Tennessee is not guaranteed a slot as their strenght of schedule is the 43 range.

Bruce Pearl wouldn't settle for 14 wins.
(But Derek Dooley would.)
