Vols RPI is 45
SOS is 16

Georgia is 97 in RPI
Auburn is 15 in RPI
Alabama is 20 in RPI

Vols have a chance to move up in RPI and SOS, which will help our NCAA chances...if Vols lose 2/3 to UGA we're toast plain and simple...MUST win 2/3 against them

I hope we can make it to the NCAAs....I still really dislike Raleigh though

How in the world is our RPI that high?

Is the baseball formula similar to bball?

Probably because we play in the SEC...Mississippi State is 20-24 and way under .500 in the SEC and they're in the mid 50s....SEC baseball is incredibly good

Vols need 7 wins to be comfortably in. 6 wins may do it.

Winning 1 game at Georgia will require 2 wins at Auburn and sweep vs. Alabama

By the end of the Auburn series we should know where we stand.

If we (heaven forbid) lose all three games at Georgia then Mike Hamilton should start accepting resumes.

If we lose 2 at UGA Hamilton should start accepting resumes....UGA is one of the worst teams in the SEC in the past 5 years....13-30 overall with a 3-16 SEC record

Yet UGA plays in the SEC and is 97th?????????????

Two reasons. One is that they play in the SEC, but they rarely beat anyone in it. The other is that their OOC schedule is bad. They played FSU and Jawja Tech and went 0-6, but the rest of it is teams like Kennesaw (twice), Stetson (three times), Presbyterian, Duke (twice, and Duke sucks in baseball), Siena (three times) and Furman. On the other hand, they DID beat Western Carolina.

Hopefully we can sweep these guys and get a little closer to the NCAAs. Any losses to Jawja are going to hurt because of their poor RPI.

And we've won 9 out of our last 10. The performance of this team down the stretch vs. early in the season has to count for something as well.

Our winning the last few weeks definitely helps our chances....I think if Vols finish 4-3 (lose 2/3 to Auburn, beat Asheville, take 2/3 from Bama) in last 7 we get in the NCAA tourney....there's even a chance we get in if we don't make Hoover with how strong we've finished the year
