11th???? I wouldve put her top 5 at least. 8 national championships, three of those in a row (96,97,98 i believe). Anyways, congrats to Pat, she deserves the recognition without a doubt.

Based on he being 11th, is that list include a combo of NBA and NCAA coaches in baskeetball? At the head has got to be Wooten from UCLA.
I'd suppose they have Bob Knight rated higher.
I think she should be top 5 too!

I wonder who the top ten are, there is no list to compare her to yet, so I will reserve comment and skepticism until I see it.

based on the people on the list it's a very high ranking. The list is for all sports

Good list after all. The only way I could think of to get her into the top ten was to lose the hockey coach. Not knowing the sport or caring for it made it a easy choice.

It is impressive none the less at #11. Seeing the names from 12 - 50 speaks volumes about what she has accomplished!

the fact that Neyland isn't on that list is disgusting.

And Wooden #1 is even more absurd.

Not near as absurd as Don Shula in the top 5 and Dean Smith ahead of Bob Knight.

I heard of this listening to Sporting News radio on my drive back home for Syracuse today. Before they listed the names I thought 1) Lombardi, 2) Wooden, 3) Auerbach

I was a little off. Summitt at 11 surprises me a little but my hat's off to her.

I'm not feeling Grep Popovich making the list. Agree with Hat on Shula. As a lifetime Baltimore Colts fan I blacklisted him when he choked the big one against the Jets. I'm still miserable over that. You can't give up the biggest upset in the history of the universe and be in the top 5 (or even top 10 for that matter)

Any list that would include Bo Schembechler but neither General Neyland nor Bobby Dodd is bogus...

ZZ

Hear HEAR!!! If the Colts don't belong in Baltimore crabs don't belong in Chesapeake bay... It was ONLY after Peyton got drafted by Indy that I actually started watching pro ball again. I still have a lot of my childhood Baltimore Colts memorabilia and wouldn't part with it for any amount of money!

I like Summit, but she has coached for the majority of her career in a sport in which only about 5 teams were truly contenders.
