Sophomore Vicki Baugh Re-Injures Knee, Out for Season

University of Tennessee Associate Athletics Director Jenny Moshak announced this evening that sophomore forward Vicki Baugh has torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee. The injury occurred during the second half of Monday's loss at No. 2/2-ranked Oklahoma.

She tore ACL in the championship game last year, a knee sprain in January, and now a second ACL tear... Really sad!

I knew it was a mistake not to red-shirt her this year. She has now lost a whole year for nothing. I hope she can make it back.

With Baugh out, 6-6 redshirt freshman Kelley Cain and 6-3 freshman Alyssia Brewer will play bigger roles.

“We have to do this by committee,’’ Summitt said. “If our post game doesn’t respond, if they don’t do it, we’re going to be hard pressed to be successful.”
