| Candace Parker Gets Into Scuffle Originally posted by Business "You understand that these immature men's sports are the only thing keeping the WNBA and women's college basketball afloat."
I didn't say "immature men's sports" I said the immature conduct. I've seen the men throw chairs and spit on referees. As I already said, I think Parker was defending herself last night, it's not the same as throwing chairs and spitting. |

It was over, Candace ran her down, you can hardly call that defending yourself. |

You do realize Candace was the one in the purple jersey. |

They won't be suspended for more than a game. Candace has single-handedly doubled the WNBA ratings and attendance. |

| It amazes me how everybody gets all high and mighty about a fight! Fights happen! We've all been in them. Going around starting fights is trashy and players should know to keep their cool to set a good example for the kids. However, not defending yourself sets just as bad of an example. People are going to challenge you in life and kids need to learn the right time and the right way to stand up for yourself. Candace was obviously being targeted by Detroit. Being the best female player in the world she will have to get used to it and understand that people will try to goad her into fighting so that she won't beat them on the court. However, last night was a statement that she won't be pushed around and I'm proud of her for it. All the people saying how trashy she was for fighting need to join the real world. Rick Mahorn and Pierson were the one's acting trashy. Pierson's reaction to getting tangled up obviously showed the frustration Candace causes opponents. |

Women's college basketball does not need men's basketball to stay afloat. |

| Candace was jerked on & pulled & just reacted to the other chick spazzing out on her. Candace was just defending herself & stopped when the other chick jumped on her. It took 2 team mates from Detroit to hold back the psyco chick from Candace & one hurt her ACL...that stinks for her. Candace did right. The other one was persuing a fight & should be punished more than Candace is, but CP will get in a little bit of trouble too. |

| I was watching the game last night when this happened & all the replays of the melee. My opinion...Parker got stuck with what Lisa Leslie got away with. She was the one who I saw in the ruck throw one of her notorious elbow shots at the Detroit assistant coach.
Parker wasn't innocent in her actions but my hope is that she hasn't allowed LL & LA to corrupt her Lady Vol spirit. They have been on a big 4th quarter slide into losses & were just about to do it again in Detroit.
Their pre-season brag about having the first WNBA undefeated season went down the tubes as they stand at 14-10. I'm sure that's pretty hard for some of them to swallow. |

All of them need the football program to stay alive. |
