The only time I've ever watched a WNBA game was when this happened. I turned it on with 2 minutes left and was too lazy to get my remote. That was pretty entertaining

If you look at the video, it is Hornbuckle that is holding back Pierson...Hornbuckle is #22, and if I were her, I wouldn't have been holding Pierson back, I would have been punching her too.

They should make the WNBA like NHL...an occasional fight should get you a 5 minute major and make the game 4 on 4. That would create ratings off the chart!

Hornbuckle couldn't take her former Vols sides in this one but if it came down to something off the court I am sure that she would have handled business for her former teammates.

I agree with that assistant coach, there's no way he pushed her because he has four daughters.

Candace Parker Gets Into Scuffle

I watched the game last night, the incident happened so quickly but what I saw was --

1. Candace Parker and Detroit's Cheryl Ford had to be separated after Ford Fouled Parker. (Ford hit Parker in the mouth, you can clearly see Parker bringing her jersey up to her lip which appeared to be cut).

2. On the next possession Parker got tangled up with Detroit's Pienette Pierson and fell to the ground. As Parker was getting up, Pierson intentionally ran into Parker, setting off the melee. (After the free throw, Pierson turned to her right, started moving forward and slammed into Parker. Parker started stumbling and fell to the floor. Pierson continued to come at Parker after Parker was down and Pierson just ran over Parker while Parker was still on the floor.)

3. Parker threw a punch at Pierson before being tackled by Detroit's Deanna Nolan. Players and teams joined in, and Mahorn knocked Lisa Leslie to the court at one point. (Sounds to me like Parker was just defending herself to me. Pierson was wrong to just run over Parker like she did. Mahorn did pushed Leslie, maybe he didn't intend to but he did.)

I know women's sports has always been able to hold it's head high because the awful fights and displays of immaturity we see in men's sports didn't happen in women's sports but it happened last night. I know emotions were running high since L.A. had lost 4 games. I watched Candace Parker the past 3 years while she played at Tennessee. I've never seen her react this way before. I'm not saying she's right or wrong. There comes a time when a person must defend themselves. I think Candace was in that position last night. I hope Candace can find a way through this so she can continue to play the outstanding basketball she plays. I think Candace is one of the best if not the best female basketball player in the WNBA.

You understand that these immature men's sports are the only thing keeping the WNBA and women's college basketball afloat.
