2010 commit Lauren Avant to be featured in Sports Illustrated

Lauren Avant (2010) of Memphis will be featured in Sports Illustrated:

The 5-9 University of Tennessee commitment is one of 16 high-school athletes picked from across the country to be featured next month in Sports Illustrated's "Where Will They Be" photo series.

Avant, who drew national attention two years ago when she committed to Tennessee as a 14-year-old, was one of several high-school underclassmen featured in a Time magazine article about the recruitment of eighth-graders.

The comments her mother made at the end are excellent. If she holds true, she is doing a fantastic job in teaching her daughter humility, and keeping that hunger to continue improving her game. I'm hoping she continues to become a special player, and I look forward to seeing her in the orange and white.
