The Gatorade Company, a division of PepsiCo, announced today a new relationship with Candace Parker of the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks, her first endorsement as a professional athlete.
The multi-year deal was completed by Scott Paddock, Gatorade Director of Sports Marketing and Eric Goodwin, President of Goodwin Sports Management.
Former University of Tennessee standout and WNBA top draft pick Candace Parker has signed her first two endorsement deals, CNBC has learned.
Parker, who will play with the Los Angeles Sparks, has agreed to a multi-million dollar shoe deal with adidas as well as a sports drink deal with Gatorade.
Adidas signs Candace Parker to multiyear endorsement deal
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Los Angeles Sparks rookie Candace Parker has signed a multiyear endorsement deal with Adidas. Parker was the top choice in the WNBA draft and The Associated Press player of the year.
Adidas declined to disclose the value of the deal. Parker's agent was not immediately available.
Parker played three seasons at Tennessee and helped win two national championships. She is headed to Beijing as part of the 2008 U.S. Olympic women's basketball team.
This is why I never understood the so-called ESPN experts who scoffed at her WNBA salary, and questioning her reasoning for passing up her 5th year. Who cares about that chump change, this girl is about to print money with her endorsements rolling in...! Hey Candace, loan me $50....and don't say you don't have it!
