Apparently, Bama's 2B Turner won't be back until after the Tennessee series. That was a nasty injury.

We move up one spot in the coaches poll to number 16.

Wondering why our ranking stays so low despite having better RPI & fewer losses than teams 9 spots above us & even a win over Oklamoma.

Arkansas & SC losses that bad? Those teams are ranked or were, right?

I know there will be chance to move up with such tough end to the season (FL, Bama, LSU, A&M). Just don't understand the ranking up to now.

Thoughts?

So UGA is 13th (last) in the SEC, with a 2-10 record, 27-13 overall, and have lost 6 straight. Ranked #19.

UT is 3rd in the SEC, with a 9-3 record, 35-5 overall, and has won 14 straight. Ranked #16.

UGA has played some tough teams, with some close losses, but they seem overvalued while UT seems undervalued.

I think we've been underrated all year--and we'll get a big chance to prove it starting this weekend and over the next three weeks. Crunch time. We need to beat bama twice--at a minimum.

I have been telling people since the beginning of the season how potentially good this TN team is...The best since the 2013 national runner-up team.

But I am being cautious about the upcoming end of season series. Bama, LSU, and Florida have really, really good pitching, especially Florida. It is quite possible TN goes 3 and 9. I don't think so, but it's possible. I just don't have a good feel for how the girls will handle Osario's riseball and Florida's stable of pitchers all with era's under 1.

I've been wondering as well...we've has some quality wins and no really bad losses so what the problem? On the other hand, if we just keep posting Ws everything will work itself out, eventually. We do seem pretty undervalued as the OP said.

Jeff I think our pitching, while quite good, does not match up well against the gaters or the tide. Those two teams seem to hit everybody pretty well as we do for the most part, but if we go head to head I think our hitters will have a considerably harder time than their hitters will. Hope I'm proven wrong.

For a young team, they have done well. It'll be tough to steal one from UF, but I can see UT taking a series from Bama, LSU or aTm. Pitching depth could catch up to us during this brutal SEC stretch, though. These teams know how to work our pitchers with long at bats-- not sure how we'll hold up to high pitch counts week after week.

Not getting Gabriel back was a blow. Left us down a starter.

Gregg already has three RBIs.

She is up to 60 for the year. The UT record is 77 by Kristi Durant. 13 regular games + post season left. I hope the 2 RBI she lost when Ralph failed to re-enter her properly don't cost her a shot at the record.

Understood, no argument from me.
