The ten Naismith Semifinalists have been announced. Wilson and Vivians are representing the SEC.

The Big 10 has two, the PAC 12 has two, and the ACC has one. The American leads all conferences with three nominees.

You wonder how Vivians is getting so much recognition. Shooting 30 percent from the three and 38 percent overall Diamond has better numbers as does Mercedes.

Some of the ten players listed are sophomores and juniors who are not eligible for the WNBA draft this year. Diamond and Russell might be considered among the top ten players in the country who are eligible for the draft, just not among the top ten players in the country. Also, some players have games that are better suited to either WCBB or the WNBA, but not both.

Does anyone think the award will go to anyone other than Plum this year? Her accomplishments are amazing.

I think the committee votes are based on the team success because based on stats alone Mercedes & diamond should easily be on this list. To be completely honest nobody on the list is better than diamond & it's not even close.

Or how about a team with the projected num1 pick and num 7 pick, but that team they play on has been unranked most of the season.

At her best, she can play with anyone. Unfortunately, we don't see her best often enough. When the season is taken as a whole, DD falls short of being the best.
Look at the shooting percentages, Plum is miles ahead.
