Had 23 points and 22 rebounds in a home game against Isabelle Harrison's Phoenix Mercury team tonight.

WOW!!!

And...She hit a 3 point shot.

Well done Glory!:)

Phoenix Mercury vs. Dallas Wings - Box Score - July 05, 2016 - ESPN

She's NOT the same player that she was when she played as a Lady Vol. She's so much better as a professional.

Heads up - I just discovered that WNBA games are on youtube. Not live but posted a few days later after the games been played or televised. Please subscribe. Watching LVs play in the WNBA is fun!

Speaking of LVs in the WNBA there is one particular LV that is languishing in the league.

Shekinna Strickland! She started off in Seattle and didn't do much their. Then she was sent in a trade to the Connecticut Sun where she's coming off the bench in limited minutes but scoring 3pt shots whenever she does get in.

Shekinna is a big guard. A wing type player. She would be great in The L.A. Sparks rotation. I can see her doing the same things as Essence Carson. Also the N.Y. Liberty could use her properly with Tina Charles dishing off to her on the perimeter.
or attacking the rim. The Sun is not shining bright for Shekinna. If she becomes a free agent she should get out of Dodge with the quickness. She's too good to be an after thought. Shekinna should be a starter in the league.

Any thoughts? Also I don't think Izzy and Meighan are on the right teams, either.

Just throwing it out there. Hopefully, Bashaara & Cierra will find the right team?

Stricklen is probably not starter material, but should be a solid 15-18 mpg player. Same with Izzy.

Meighan was lucky to make the Atlanta roster. She's probably not good enough to stay in the league. Same is true for Cierra and unfortunately Bashaara.

This bares repeating I think Shekinna Stricklen is a starter. If given the right coach (team) she could do quite well.

Meighan is a scorer. A 2 guard. When she got into games she was a quick shooter and looked to attack. Coach Cooper is doing his team a disservice by sitting Meighan. She's too valuable of a player quickness and 3pt accuracy to be sitting on the bench. My hope for Meighan is a spot on the Sparks team. Atlanta is not the right fit for her.

Ariel, Bashaara & Cierra luck in the WNBA just might had run its course. Izzy on the other hand has a future in the league. Her post moves are a thing of beauty! She'll need to get out of Phoenix to prosper though because Griner, Bonner and Bass are taken up her minutes.

Love Your Game Izzy stay positive & strong! You, too Meighan!

And unfortunately for Izzy, the Mercury just added Kelsey Bone to their roster. Now she isn't even going into the games. Wish Izzy was traded to a team that needs her talent. I'm afraid if she stays in Phoenix, she'll be cut.

In last night's WNBA action, Glory Johnson was a beast. Harrison, Graves, and Simmons never left their respective benches.

Shekinna has had two chances in Seattle and Connecticut. Both of them were in dire need of a strong 2/3 player. Yet Shekinna was in and out of the starting lineup for both. You suggest the Sparks as a possible destination for her...the team that is coached by the same Brian Agler who decided that she did not meet his expectations. It's on Shekinna to prove that she is starter material, not the coaches. When she responds to the challenge, then she will get rewarded.

Simmons didn't make the league her first 2 years out of college for a reason. She is limited in what she can do. Being a great college player doesn't always translate to the pros.

Is Ariel Massengale playing in the WNBA this season? I haven't seen her playing in any of the games I have watched.

I hadn't included coach Agler into the equation thanks for pointing that out. She ain't going to L.A. :)

Geez....you're right though. Shekinna is going to have to show some moxy, umph, something that will wake her up and so that she can look like the best player on the court! Coach Summitt attempted to get the best out of Strickland. Some times it worked and other times it didn't. I think she's just unabashedly shy.

Meighan's a scorer and she's quick. That's a role I think any team will welcome. Atlanta has that role for her but lately she's been warming the bench for a long time now. I'm afraid her role might be coming to an end. Hope not, though!

Ariel was with the Atlanta Dream early on but then got cut. Cierra stayed on that team for awhile but got cut also a couple of weeks ago. Only Meighan remains now. It doesn't look to good for her though.

I missed that! When the heck did Kelsey Bone arrive to Phoenix? Now, I have to go find out what occurred because this is news to me!

Poor Izzy. Why on earth would the Mercury take on Bone when they already have Izzy on the team and she's been playing fantastic whenever she gets into the game. Head scratcher...!

Shekinna needs to show something this year. Morgan Tuck has all but replaced her in the lineup as a backup wing, and they are loaded at SG. If she is still under contract with Connecticut, I expect that she will be waived by next year. It seems the coach prefers Kelly Faris anyway. If Shekinna had Faris' mental strength, she would probably be an All-Star, but oh well.

The problem with Simmons is that there's nothing she can do that Tiffany Hayes or Layshia Clarendon can't do better. She may be faster, but she doesn't use that to her advantage. She should be a repeat customer at the FT line, but she's content to take and miss a pull up jumper instead of initiating contact. Hayes AKA "The Human Bowling Ball" goes all in once she gets in motion, and she's just as good of an outside shooter as Meighan. Unless Hayes and Clarendon are in foul trouble, there's little incentive to play Simmons. That's probably true for other teams as well. She's at best a spot-up 3 pt specialist who isn't that consistent from long range...not a good brand for getting PT.

Bone wanted out of Connecticut, and Phoenix basically got her for free. I'm surprised that she is ok with going from being the go-to player playing big minutes at CT to a 12-15 mpg role player that is mostly inconsequential at Phoenix. She works best when the offense runs through her, and that will never happen. Phoenix needs the ball to run through Taurasi. Bone shouldn't expect to get as many touches as she did with CT.

This spells doom for Izzy. Dupree is not sitting down for any extended minutes, and Bass has been really good for Phoenix coming off the bench. Add Bone to the mix, and it's end of the bench for Izzy. Hopefully she gets released by Phoenix and goes to a team that can use her. Atlanta, Chicago, Indiana, and Dallas could all make excellent use of a player with her skills.

I've always wished Meighan's self-confidence could be bottled up and used on some of our current LV players!
