Despite recent losses, I do see some improvements in some of our players in the past few games...

Carter looks more comfortable shooting, is becoming our best 3-pointer shooter, and is less of a liability on offense.

Reynolds has improved all around since she was removed from the starting PG role. She's finding her shot, rebounding well, and playing better defense.

Cooper has improved her shot selection and is becoming a monster on defense.

Middleton has improved on defense as well. Despite last night's game, which was an aberration, she generally has good court vision and good passing.

Graves has developed a nice mid-range jumper.

Hopefully Nared will also show some signs of improvement with a few more games under her belt. I think she was really hurt by missing the first half of the season.

The others are projects.

Agree. Starting Russell, Reynolds, Nared, Carter, and Graves should be continued. This group played well together, had fewer turnovers, and did well offensively scoring points.

DeShields has become a problem--poor play, for sure, and maybe it is poor play owing to a what certainly looks from afar like an attitude/princess issue. Whatever it is, she's got to sit and let's put some girls on the court with some fight in them.

At this point, I'd start Cooper in favor of Nared. She hasn't gave us anything since the Stanford game.

IMVHO Nared has been a huge disappointment. Why is she playing instead of Dunbar?

My point exactly Dunbar could give us at least 9 points a game and will force teams not to zone us so often because they know when she's in it's bombs away. Holly is misusing a lot of these girls

The combination of Carter and Reynolds together just doesn't work. We saw that last year. Carter in particular tends to disappear when the game gets tight.

Say what you will about Diamond, but she will always try to make something happen. The ball should be in her hands with the game on the line.

I read a post on another board that mentioned a Deshields interview where she was asked who was the best player to come out of Georgia, Maya Moore was one of the Georgia natives mentioned. Deshields' response was "me". I didn't see the interview so I don't know if her response was intended as a joke, but based on what I have seen and read about her I suspect that she was serious.

Holly has no clue as how to play a zone even today. One thing she could do is play with one post and spread the court with four perimeter players. If they want to keep packing that zone in tight should be able to get a open shot with a few quick passes. Our post player always looked jammed up in a zone and are totally ineffective when teams go to it. We still try to get the pass to them multiple turnovers and terrible passing.
I am amazed that we got only 55 shots to their 73 how did that happen. How did we give up that many possessions without a shot. If they had been shooting better they would have beaten us by 15. No reason for any team to get 18 more shots in a game than we do. When Summit was coach that never happened we always got the most shots and even shooting in the 40's this pushed us to several wins.

Thank you, you need shooters to make teams come out of a zone we have a Sharp Shooter (Dunbar) who can't get in the game and the word is she can't play defense (so the hell what) some times you just need a specialist. If she comes in and hits 2 3's in a row, I guarantee you whatever team we are playing will come out of that zone real quick

10 more possessions due to fewer turnovers and another 10 from offensive boards. They are the best offensive rebounding team in the league. It's like Vivians or Williams just throws it towards the basket and one of their teammates gets the misses and starts the process all over.

Can I just say that Dominique Dillingham is what I wish Andraya Carter could be? Solid, solid defensive player, but knows how when to look to put the ball in the basket. She drew three charges tonight, and I counted at least 5 against SC the other day. She was MVP for keeping them in the game in the 1st half.

That's the same thing I was telling my wife last night while watching the game if only Carter had Dillinghams mindset we would be a much better team. Also we are really missing Jasmine Jones.

I think the way Dillingham plays has been instilled in her by the coach of the team. Coaches make players better give them instructions in practice that they can use in games to be successful. I don't think our players get much of that. We need someone to mold these players into a team and the coaches we have don't have that ability. When you've played 20 games you are what you are and what we are is a team that still can't break down a zone or make quick decisions when teams change defenses.
I am pulling for these players to make a run and get to the NCAA but I think Holly is holding them back and giving a game plan than very few of them trust or really believe in.

Dunbar needs to get a lot of DeShield's minutes. She doesn't turn the ball over, she can hit a three and she passes better. And, she'll at least get some rebounds.

Middleton must have the highest pass to turnover ratio on the team. Sure, a couple make you go "oh" and "ah", but what about the one's that end up in the opponent's mitts.
