I am watching the McDonald All-American girl's game and Cooper looks like the real deal, but so did Russell and Nared, so I will not get too excited. Right now she is the leading scorer. She is great on the dribble drive.

Russells feet held her back, & Nared is progressing just fine....some people are just jackwads...teach?

Definitely the real deal. Now I see why Diamond always has commented about how good she is. Ranked way too low. Definitely one of the top three players in this class.

She was rated in the top 5 so I don't think they would make her way underrated.

I know I saw one rating service had her number 1 overall in the class..Now, I don't want to get to excited, but next year's team will have three players who were rated number 1 overall by different rating services. Mercedes, Diamond, and Tea..Not even UConn can claim that..

Cooper, who connected on eight-of-14 shots, including three-of-six from the three-point line for the evening, scored 19 of her points in the first half. Her finally tally of 21 was two shy of the McDonald's game record.

In addition to her scoring effort, Cooper added three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 27 minutes. She also was charged with nine turnovers.

Great game by Te'a Cooper. 19 points first half, only 2 points the second half; she did not shoot but a couple of times in the second half. If her team mates could have hit some shots she would have had around 20 assist. She played great defensive, went after loose balls and rebounds very good for a point guard. Got some steels and runs the court very well, makes very good passes. Happy to have her at Tennessee.

you often see McDonald's All American and say "how did she become an McDonald's All American. However, this girl is a true All American and should move in the starting lineup from day #1.

starters next year..............Cooper Carter, DeShields, Graves, Russell

Still think Reynolds will start over Cooper so she can be the boost coming in off the bench like Ariel did this year but she does have the talent to start. If you start Reynold, Carter, DeShields, Graves, Russell and these guys coming off the bench - Cooper, Jones, Tucker, Nared & Middleton + 3 point specialist Dunbar ... the Lady Vols will be 12 players deep for the first time in 4-5 years ... just have to start healthy

Sounds exciting but I must temper my enthusiasm: I thought Massengale was going to be an outstanding player, and while she was solid, she wasn't anywhere near outstanding.

If Cooper were to start at PG, who starts at shooting 2 guard? Has to be Carter, for her defense and because she's certainly got untapped scoring potential that I hope will be tapped this year--needs to be more aggressive. Reynolds and Middleton off the bench. But that's only if Cooper proves she can handle the PG position--and of course play defense.

Not sure what ratings service that was?? Prospect Nation has her at #3, Bluestar at #16 (??), Hoopgurlz at #19 (???), ASGR #7, Fullcourt #4. Overall #8.

She did look really good last night, minus the TO's.

Cooper and Mabry without a doubt two best players in the game. Asia Durr and Brown and a few others were very good too. Doubt if Cooper starts right away but later in the year believe she will be our starting point guard. Great talent.

Our best 5 next year will probably be Cooper, Deshields, Jones, Graves and Russell. Pretty formidable.

P.S.-It could be Nared instead of Jones.

Can you imagine how good the team will be with Reynolds, Carter, Middleton, Jackson, Tucker, Nared, Moore, and Dunbar coming off the bench. Pretty strong team.

Cooper is a physical point guard not a finesse guard like Massengale. She is more in the category of Sims. Teammates will have to get used to her style and not stand with their hands in their pockets like they do on All-Star teams. She fires a lot of no look passes you have to understand that and be alert. She is a solid three point shooter and can get to the rim. She will still be a freshmen so certainly not expecting her to come in and be the team's best player. She want have to that will fall on Diamond and hopefully Mercedes.

If this all works out we'll have formidable 10 deep roster Cooper, Reynolds, Carter, Graves, Nared. Jones, Deshields, Tucker?, Russell, and Middleton. I wish we could add that Juco power forward because she is a board monster.

If you google this: d1spects 2015 power 50 girls basketball ratings that should take you directly to the right spot. They have cooper first, durr second and kls third.

If tucker comes back 100% healthy, wow this team will nearly be unstoppable. Maybe we are looking at a three peat?? Ok, ill stop I don't wanna get to ahead of myself lol

Cooper may be a great player for UT, but college ain't high school, and she has a lot to learn. I don't think she will come in and start immediately.

I don't doubt any of them being outstanding but I will withhold my excitement until next season. It is not a prediction of failure or success. If it is okay, I want to wait and see. The future for the Lady Vols look good, though another big or two would be nice.
