Facing perhaps the biggest shorthanded challenge in a season that has seen plenty of them, UT emerged with a win that showed a fight the team has been looking for all season.

This will open up some very interesting scenarios. Gonna be good to see how it plays out.
Get well soon...Izzy.

Massengale played hungry and aggressive instead of soft--nice to see for a change. Kudos to her on the great second half. Would be nice to see her play with that sort of verve every game.

Maybe this is one game where backhanded compliments could be put on hold.

Ariel has had several games this season where she was integral to the team's success with her three point shooting.

This season, she has been playing within in her role. She is not "soft"; her job is to be the shooting guard; the outside threat who spreads the floor with Carter and Reynolds running the point.

When Izzy went down, Ariel showed MAJOR senior leadership and became the attacking player. Sorry when you are "soft" you can't command the kind of presence she showed on the floor. She and Burdick made it clear that they were not losing this game.

No matter how this season ends, this game should be remember as a landmark performance and a show that this group of young women and their two seniors (on the floor) in particular play with a lot of heart.

Both of them were terrific in this game. Ariel has put Tennessee on her back a number of times this year. Her stepping up yesterday was not an aberration.

When Izzy went down, Cierra's eyes were filling with tears on the sideline. She did a remarkable job to not get too emotional and instead played with composure and intensity.

Outstanding senior leadership from both players in this tough situation.
