Has anyone done a trip like this before? Is that a good way to see Florence & Rome (as well as cheering on the LVs)?

IMO it is more to follow the Ladys than to see Italy. A lot of time will be on the bus, and then three games. That leaves very little time to actually see the sights.

Rome is not that expensive, and you can catch the train to Florence or Venice. Venice is more pricey. From Rome you can hit the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Tuscan wineries, etc.

So....if you can arrange your flight time, spend at least an extra week, better yet two or three:) The worst cost is getting there, after that it is just deciding what to do, language, currency, and transportation...that's why I like B&Bs; they will help you with it all. Just do your research and find a good one.
