Fantastic-looking group, just wish we'd added a pitcher to the mix.

Gregg, who plays shortstop, helped lead the Lady Wildcats to consecutive GISA Class AA state softball championships in 2012 and 2013, sporting a batting average of .766 with 7 home runs along with an on-base percentage of .830 in 2013. Those two titles were added to the state the title she won as a freshman. Flint finished third during her sophomore year.

Gregg had similar numbers as a junior, but her homers went from 22 in 2012 to 7 this year due to the fact that she was intentionally walked 27 times as a senior. Gregg also led the Flint River girls basketball team to the state playoffs as a point guard and has competed in track and field in the shot put. And don’t think she only excels in athletics — Gregg is the editor of the school yearbook and she sports a 4.0 grade point average.

A 2017 class pitcher? What is she, 14 years old now? Surprised this class only has one California girl--we usually have more. What is the competitive level of HS softball in Tennessee compared to, say, California or Florida?

Yes a 14 year old that is legit good already 6'0 could grow even more...The competition level is all relative to how good your team is the Renfroe's played on Tennessee travel ball teams and played well for us...but now that the game of softball is growing so much you can find the great players anywhere....UF freshman leadoff hitter was from Kansas last year...the stud commit we landed for 2017 is from Minnesota

Yep, but of course those three class of '15 pitchers won't be available until spring of '16, so it looks like Tarango & Gaffin will make up 2/3 of our pitching staff in '15. Maybe they & Gabriel will be enough but I'd just like to have one more full-time pitcher on hand.

FWIW, the 2017 commitment is Gabby Sprang from Rosemount, MN.

Could someone with a more in depth knowledge of the sport/recruiting landscape provide us with general idea of how this class compares to other prominent schools and/or our recent classes? Thanks in advance.

sounds like Adell can do some pitching also

" posting a 20-10 record in the circle with a 1.10 ERA, 210 strikeouts and eight shutouts over 197.2 innings"

it looks to be an impressive list
