to start the game, and then tried a squeeze in the first inning, with one out and the no. 3 hitter at the plate. Why? It failed and cost UT a run, since Shipman later hit a grounder that would probably have scored the run. :eek:hmy:

3-1 going to the top of the 7th.... Ellen gets out of a bases loaded jam in the 6th and has allowed 1 run on 3 hits..

Bama starts top of the 7th with a lead off hit

With the score 3-1 going to the top of the 7th.... Vols getting out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the 6th....


Bama gets 2 runners on with no out and Ralph brings in Ivy... Ivy gets a pop out for 1 out with runners on 1st and 2nd.

#9 batter up.... and hits a fly ball to left field.... Davin runs to make the play... sets up and loses the ball at the last second and ball goes off Melissa's glove.... She throws to Shipman who throws to Akamine who drops the ball at the plate.... 3-3 tie... runner on 3rd... 1 out.

Bama loads the bases... intentionally walk Hunt to get to a Traina who pops out to end the inning.

Bottom of the 7th, Hammond has lead off walk and advances to second on a ball in the dirt.... Raven bunts for a single.... Hammond advances to third.... Raven steals 2nd to set UT record... Dotson strikes out.... Gibson walked to load bases..... Shipman rips a ball past 3rd down the 3rd bases line to score Hammond from 3rd for the 4-3 win!

When Ivy was taking her warmup pitches yesterday she was just smoking the ball, then it looked like her speed dropped off 5 mph when she was throwing to batters. I know she's mixing it up and moving it around but I'd like to see her really cut it loose more.
