| This is probably their worst coaching job, this team had potential to win it all, but this is their 5th WS trip, they took this program from bottom to top, anybody who thinks they can't get it done is an idiot |

| | True Orange | I love our Lady Vols, but we have some painful moments this year. The last two games were unbearable.
Ralph and Karen probably made some mistakes, but I did not see either one of them doing anything with a bat. Come to think of it, I didn't see anyone on our team doing much.
We need some people who can actually hit the ball out of the infield with authority, and our pitchers are great, but they do need an in-house psychologist.
I have to agree that our girls are just not as mentally tough as they need to be. They have given too easily this year. They may have wanted to win at OKC, but it was hard for me to see it. They played as if they expected to lose. That is unacceptable in any sport. Any play all out or don't get on the field.
I try to cool off and not be negative, but this was hard to take. I get some solace in the fact we did make it to the final eight out of around 290 teams, but we had the talent to do much better. In my opinion, we simply did not have the heart. |

| If you thought this team actually had the talent to win it all, then you clearly don't follow softball. We had a top ten team this year at best, but a top 4 or so team wasn't even close. We weren't even the best team in our own conference.
Keep complaining about the coaching that single-handedly made us relevant, keep complaining about the girls who still get us national attention for the better part of 5 years, and keep acting like typical posters in the football or basketball forums do when things get rough. I'm sure when we do win a title in a few years (and it will be within the next three if we are ever going to win one) you all will be the first to congratulate and say you always had the faith just like a good fair weather fan does. |

| remember when Delmonico got fired because he couldn't win it all? now look at our BB program, pretty weak. I like the coaches, all the teams at the WS are good and want to win. Great recruiting class coming in, we're fine. |

| Those bashing the OP (the majority) should examine the facts before posting. When TN first got to the WCWS they were a one man team (or in this case a one woman team), Monica A. They had no offense to speak of, we won or lost with MA's pitching. Since then the Weekley's have recruited outstanding talent as acknowledged by the OP, (close to half the team is from Cali, if not half or more). Lot's of fans said Ivy and Ellen were great pitchers, yet when they got against quality teams, both struggled mightily (they looked like mental basket cases at times). And the mental errors, from Dotson dropping an easy fly ball, to Gibson running straight into the second baseman's throw, when the rules clearly state you as a runner must slide or attempt to avoid interfering with a defender's ability to make a play. The same stupid mental mistakes, they were making in 2007. We have upgraded talent in a major way, since 2007, having the #1 rated class once, and the 2nd rated class another year, yet show very little if any improvement on the field. Still not mentally tough, don't play smart, can't hit the ball with any authority or consistency, and just don't play hard and want it like other teams. If you can't see this as a fan you're blind. TN had four, count them 4 all-american s on this years team (more than any team in OKC by far) and looked like the worst team there. Those are facts ! Before you attack someone you should know what you're talking about. As the OP pointed out the Weekley's have done outstanding recruiting talent, but that has not led to improved play on the field in the biggest games. I too question if UT can win a WCWS under Ralph and Karen, they have shown nothing to this point to convince me they can |
