It has nothing to do with it being women playing. I think you'd see about the same amount of "frontrunning" if the men's baseball team were in the College World Series -- another sport which most Vol fans don't care much about because the quality of play is so much lower than what they're used to watching.
I won't pretend to care about women's softball any more than I would pretend to care about men's diving or men's tennis or whatever. I just root like hell for the kids that go to my school, and when they get a chance to compete in championships that are available on ESPN, I make time to watch. If that makes me a frontrunner then so be it. | This guy gets it. Don't worry. Half the posters that try to rage on non frequent visitors to this forum are usually moms or aunts or sisters of the lady vol players. I've seen like 5 softball moms post on VN. |

| It's the sixth inning and UT, with a man on, is swinging at what would be first-pitch balls, and then grounding out! You have to take pitches late in a game when you are behind--especially when they are outside of the strike zone! Good grief. |

| The Weeklys are the Peyton Manning of coaching. They win a lot of games every year, but fall apart when it actually matters. |

| SEC wins first National Championship Now that this first one has been won after being so close before, maybe now the SEC can dominate this sport too. |

| Boccia's little block on Martinez was completely uncalled for. You can't stand on the baseline and block the runner from getting to the base. The umpire was dumb enough to let that go. |

The umpire was dumb enough to let that go. | If you are refering to the play at first base... then you are wrong... the batter has to stay within the base path that is created to the right of the first base foul line... if you notice there is a line to the right of the foul line which starts about 1/3 of the way to first base and continues to the bag.
After hitting the ball, the runner must make their way to this base path otherwise if there is contact with the fielder then the runner is out for interference!! The runner was clearly running on the field of play and made contact with the fielder!! |
