| Unfortunately we lost this game in the first inning. Our pitchers just couldn't get settled and throw strikes. The hole was simply too deep. Hopefully they'll make some noise in the losers bracket, most likely against Oregon. Gotta get the bats going too. Top of the lineup is kinda struggling. |

(I'm sorry, it is -- the UConn women lost their endless win streak against Baylor in a game which ended with both teams shooting three straight air balls.) It has nothing to do with it being women playing. I think you'd see about the same amount of "frontrunning" if the men's baseball team were in the College World Series -- another sport which most Vol fans don't care much about because the quality of play is so much lower than what they're used to watching. | I won't pretend to care about women's softball any more than I would pretend to care about men's diving or men's tennis or whatever. I just root like hell for the kids that go to my school, and when they get a chance to compete in championships that are available on ESPN, I make time to watch. If that makes me a frontrunner then so be it. |

| Nice way to start the World Series--by... walking four and giving up four runs! What a choke. The Vols are toast, I'm sorry to say. And couldn't get a hit in the clutch, either. We are good at getting to the CWS but can't quite get it done when we get there. |
